Postpartum Care

Postpartum care with the practitioners at SWHC is supportive of the entire family's experience after birth. As a certified nurse midwife, Linda Lieberman is fully trained and licensed as a medical professional to care for mothers, and newborns up to 6 weeks of age. Currently Linda provides newborn and infant care to two weeks, at which time families are encouraged to use a professional provider of their choice for the baby. Planned home visits after a baby is born help a new mother reduce her need to travel outside of the home in the first two weeks after birth. Linda takes time to explain newborn exams and to educate families about the rapid growth and change their babies go through after birth. Newborn assessments and newborn screening tests are done in the home during the first week. And a midwife is on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week at Siskiyou Women's Health Care.
